It stands for Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, and Circulation. This approach helps prioritize actions to ensure safety and provide essential care.
First, check for any Danger to yourself or the casualty. Next, assess the Response by gently shaking the casualty and asking if they are okay. Ensure the Airway is clear of obstructions. Check for Breathing by looking, listening, and feeling for breath. Finally, check Circulation by treating any severe bleeding and preparing for CPR if necessary, make sure the emergeny services are informed.
